I upgraded the OS a month or so ago, hoping that would fix the issue but that had no effect. The only way out is to hold down the power button and reboot. When I say freeze, I mean the mouse suddenly stops moving, the clock stops, no keyboard shortcuts work, no force quit, etc. Now it's happening multiple times per day, which is not OK. My iMac ran great for several years but began randomly freezing within the last ~9 months.
